This tutorial will still work for newer versions of Flash, but since it uses ActionScript 2.0 you'll have to select that option when you make a new file. ***** Yay! I finally finished writing this tutorial after working on it on and off for several months. This is a tutorial for three kinds of simple buttons on Flash 8 but it's about the same on other versions of Flash. I did notice though, I made my button and created a second frame with something on it to be sure it was working right, but when I clicked the button it'd go to the second frame and then skip back to the first. To fix that instead of putting gotoAndPlay I used gotoAndStop, I wonder if that was the correct fix though?
You could put a stop(); action in the second frame to make the entire file stop. gotoAndStop makes the button go to the frame and stops it. Either one will work though, it just depends on what you're trying to do.
